As the norm says... A very Happy Republic Day to all!!
But... How useful and meaningful this "routine" of wishing each other on every anniversary of these historic days of National importance? Looking around, seeing where we are today, the condition our country is in, I really am trying to understand how exactly have we honoured the great sacrifices done by innumerable people, our very own ancestors, to even have a day like today??! I know as soon as people read this, they'll either blindly agree with me or most probably question me back on how 'I' have done anything different... Honestly speaking, probably nothing yet. But that doesn't mean I'm never going to, maybe not much, but as much as possible in anyway I can. The more important issue today is realizing that we are not where our founders wanted us to be after so many years of independence, so many years after India being declared a republic. We can wish each other all we want but the fact remains that we still need to actually make these days happy for each and every citizen and not just a fraction of the 1.2 billion people our country is the home to. And I really hope to see one such day, soon enough!
